ALL ABOUT ME
A Natural Instructor
I enjoy teaching, and have been teaching piano and general music in my home for more than thirty years. My formal qualifications for this are a bachelor of music degree, and a diploma from the Royal Academy of Music. I try to provide interesting lessons relevant to my pupil's needs, and teach all ages, starting at six years old. Most students have a half-hour lesson, for which they pay £15. Many people enjoy informal 'play-it-by-ear' pop or jazz style lessons, but I also give more formal tuition using the grade exam system, if that is wanted.
I have been tuning pianos (for concerts, recordings, and broadcasts) for the same length of time. Regulation is a specialty. I understand, as a working pianist, what a musician wants from an instrument, and I strive to make pianos sound as good and play as well they can. My usual fee for a local visit is £60. I also have piano-moving equipment, and move them in the local area, occasionally hiring out my own instruments.
As well as teaching, I am also a pianist for hire, well versed in the arrangement and organisation of music at celebratory events. Whether it be background music or requests, I am able to help you make your joyous day, just that bit more joyous.
